Jorge Daniel Cardaccio, the "Cardaccio" born on February 14, 1959, in Montevideo, Uruguay, Cardaccio while playing as a midfielder, although his height was in the rival area where he made repeatedly in the air. Became very important national goals, primarily in the Copa Libertadores 1988.

He was notable for his fighting spirit that leads him to overcome any adversity. Very good marker and nodded, went along with the "Basque" Ostolaza leaflets of the team that swept all the championships of the time. The Intercontinental played in Tokyo against PSV Eindhoven of Holland won on penalties after finishing tied 2 to 2 again being Cardaccio holder.
The American Cup is little remembered but no less important. National conquered it twice: in 1971 and 1989. In the latter year the team played against Olimpia of Honduras. After tying 1 to 1 of Visitors, March 29 National expired 4 to 0 with goals from Noah (2), Fonseca and Ostolaza.
Again in the middle of the field, as in all major National conquests was Daniel Cardaccio.
